7th graders starts Kings Football career with exciting win over Nagel Silver
The 7th grade Kings Knights Football team started their season by visiting Nagel Silver on Sept. 2nd. The Kings Knights 7th grade team has almost 60 players who are committed to becoming future varsity players for Coach Olds and his staff. The 7th grade Knights beat Nagel Silver in an exciting 4th quarter come from behind victory 20-6. The Knights were led by stellar defensive play all evening. Ben O’Brien had a key sack early in the game that seemed to set the tempo for the Knights. Zach McBride had two interceptions for TD’s, but had one called back because of a penalty. Mike Kenney and Jacob Henderson also had key picks to help the Knights Defense. John Lehman played a solid game at his new Mike LB position. Tyler Falconbury also had a steady game with some nice hits on the Nagel Silver players.
The Knights offense was held in check most of the night until Bryson Longsbury busted into the end-zone scoring the first TD of the season for the Knights. The two point conversion was no good because of a penalty With a little over 1:30 left in the game the Knights offense got the ball back from the defense who had a great three and out to give the Knights a shot at victory. Jacob Irwin took a pass from Cullan Karabinus 50+ yards to put the Knights ahead 12-6. The 2 point conversion was also good with Irwin punching it in behind the work of offensive line: Anthony Rindlisbach, Ricky Brayton, Aaron Wyatt, Dylan Schnetzer , Damien Fields, and Jacob Bedinghaus.
The Knights travel to Wilmington this Thursday for a key FAVC matchup.
