Friday Night is Kings Football Alumni game. As we remember the strong Kings Football Tradition this week, enjoy Kingsfootball.com’s Championship Season Page.

Kings last FAVC and State Playoff Apperance occurred in 2008. The Knights ran the table on the FAVC Cardinal Division going 5-0 including both regular season and 1st round of playoff wins at Turpin. That 2008 regular season loss was Turpin’s last home regular season loss.

Championship Perspective from Coach Olds: Remembering the 2008 Championship Season
“This was the start of playing a much upgraded pre-conference schedule for Kings. As a staff, we had to make sure our players understood that if we had the right attitude, faith in the coaches and each other, that this would certainly pay dividends when we would enter league play. The 2008 team delivered in a big way. They went onto win 5 straight conference games winning the title outright with a convincing win over Turpin. As fate would have it, we would have to return to Turpin for round 1 of the playoffs. As many of you know, playing a team two times in a football season is very, very rare. Even rarer is beating a team twice in the same season and we even had to do it two times on their home field. On this night, we’d have to beat them without FAVC Player of the year Nick Bauer. Nick in the first meeting accounted for over 250 yards of offense while collecting 15 tackles from the middle linebacker position. Nick’s performance in that first Turpin game was without question, one of the best performances that I have witnessed any one player on both sides of the ball!! Besides the touchdown captured in the WKNG Flashback, this State Tournament game was also highlighted by Senior kicker/punter Zac Murphy’s record FG in the closing seconds of the first half of 54 yards!
This was extra special for myself and my wife Pam because our youngest son, Michael, was a senior and started at corner as well as at wide receiver! For a change, I got to actually be a parent of a player on a championship team!”
