Zac Murphy makes his college debut on ESPN today at 12:00 noon as the Miami Redhawks take on the Florida Gators. Zach made a call last night to WKNG Radio at halftime of the Kings vs. Milford game, fast forward through to the 1 hour 59 minute mark of the Game Podcast to hear Zach talk about today’s game and check out Barret Cohen’s interview in Alumni in Action. Half time update: While Zac appeared for a punt in the 2nd quarter, the Redhawks decided to fake a punt and gave the ball to the Gators at their own 21 to turn the tide of the first half… Staying tuned for Zac’s first punt in the 2nd half! Gator’s up 21-6 at halftime. Also active for the Redhawks are FAVC and Turpin alumni Luke Kelly and Andy Cruse.
Game Recap: Murphy’s first punt comes at the 10:59 mark of the 3rd quarter. A booming 38 yard punt! He had another in the 4th quarter for 43 yards.

Trey Knecht has accepted an offer to play football for Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders in the Mid-South Conference next year. Trey looks forward to getting plenty of early opportunity as Lindsey Wilson College returns to the gridiron for the first time since 1935. Trey Joins several mid-west/southern recruits heading for the Lake Cumberland area to play for the Blue Raiders next year. The full recruiting class is avaialble on Lindsey Wilson’s Football Web-site and the Blue Raiders Schedule is available on-line (Note: the November 6th match-up vs. Georgetown College where Trey will be facing off against former King’s Teammate Derrick Harris).
Trey was joined at his signing by his family, coach Olds, the Senior Band of Brothers and underclassmen Jamire Westbrook and Justin Crull.

Kings Knight Alumni Collin McCafferty who made his second BCS Bowl apperance this year was one of twelve UC Bearcats honored as All Big East All Academic. Learn more about Collin’s academic accomplishments at UC Bearcats Football website
For the first times in Kings Football History, the Knights will have 2 alumni playing for teams making BCS Bowl apperances. Knights fans can enjoy the two games back to back on New Years Day.

Conner Warye’s 2009 football season at Wittenberg ended with the Tigers posting a 12-1 record losing only in the third round of the D-3 National Playoffs to eventual National Champion Wisconsin -Whitewater 31-13. Conner finished his season fourth on his team with 761 All-Purpose yards including 608 rushing, six touchdowns, and 5.4 yards per carry . Next year the Knights will add another Kings Alumni to the Tigers’ roster as Kings’ QB of the 2005-07 seasons Bruce Ernest, has tranferred from Miami to Wittenberg and has immediately begun winter workouts with his new team. Wouldn’t it be fun to see Bruce and Conner back together again in Wittenberg’s back field in 2010? Stay tuned!

Jesse Imes was a two-sport standout at Kings, earning all-conference honors in football and baseball. As a senior, he was named second-team all-Ohio in football and went on to continue his football career at the University of Buffalo and earned all-Mid-American Conference academic honors.
